When you move in with Vera Living, you gain access to the Vera Living lifestyle. We put people first, always, and we understand that moving can be overwhelming. That’s why our fantastic Tenant Experience team are here to help every step of the way.
We facilitate a smooth and supportive transition period that is completely at your pace, so we can ensure you’re ready to move and will be happy in your home. You’ll have your own dedicated Tenant Support Specialist (TSS) who will provide personalised assistance, address your needs, and help foster positive relationships with your new community. With the help of your Tenant Support Specialist, you can expect your transition into your new Vera home to be seamless and enjoyable.
Here’s a snapshot of what to expect:
Supports in your home
- You will agree what supports work best for you in your home with the allocated Supported Independent Living provider (SIL). Find out how we collaborate with SILs here.
Lease Signing
- Your TSS will guide you through the lease signing process, ensuring you understand all the terms and conditions. We’ve always got your needs in mind, and that’s why we offer easy to read contracts. Our rolling leases give you flexibility to extend and stay in your home for as long as you like. And if you need to end your lease sooner than expected, just let us know and we can help.
Sorting Assistive Technology modifications in your home
- Before you move in, your TSS will discuss your Assistive Technology needs with you. This can include home modifications such as grab rails and ceiling hoists. Your TSS will liaise with the Vera Living team to ensure these are sorted before you move into your home.
Meeting your housemates
- For shared homes, the Vera Living team works with the allocated Supported Independent Living provider to match participants to ensure a happy home. Your TSS will introduce you to your new housemates, this could be over dinner or spending an afternoon in your new home.
Home Orientation
- On your move-in day, your TSS will welcome you to your home and provide you with a Vera Living welcome pack. This contains all the details you need, from key contacts to what to do if something goes wrong. They will give you a thorough orientation of your new home to familiarise you with the layout and all the features.
Training on Smart Home Technology
- Vera Living homes are equipped with smart home technology to enhance your independent living. Your TSS will show you how to use the various systems, such as lighting and temperature control, so you can live comfortably in your home.
Ongoing Support and Communication
- Your TSS will be your friendly face from Vera Living, acting as your single point of contact for all your tenancy needs. They will maintain open communication with you, regularly checking in to ensure you’re happy in your home and working to improve things for you. You can contact your TSS at any point if you have any issues, and they will promptly address them in a way that works best for you.
