This quick explanation will help provide an answer.
Some people living with disability have very high support needs. This could mean they need to live in a specially designed house. This is called Specialist Disability Accommodation, or SDA. This is the kind of property that Vera Living provides. Our tenants are people with a disability who have been assessed eligible for SDA. You must be an NDIS participant to be eligible for SDA. Our homes are not for aged care or people who don’t have a disability.
How do SDA homes differ?
From the outside, our houses, villas and apartments look like the other lovely properties in a new estate. They are close to parks and amenities, public transport and the things in life most people like to enjoy.
Inside is where there is a big difference: doorways are wider, wheelchairs have under-bench access to sinks, the extra-large accessible bathrooms have oversized showers and the kitchens feature adjustable bench tops with integrated cooktop. The generous bedrooms all have private ensuites and there is structural provision for installation of ceiling hoists.
